Any good recipes for spicey rice?

When I was in the merchant navy, many years ago, we had an African cook, who made this great spicey rice,nothing in the cook books comes anywere near it. Any suggestions

Ive got one Rice and Any Spice, Normally Cumerin or Paprika, You can even try Cinemon with some peas

"Spicy Red Rice" Ingredients: 1 cup uncooked rice 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth, heated 2 tblsp canola oil 1 tblsp butter 1/2 onion, chopped 3-4 tblsp Chili Pepper Paste Directions: Heat butter and oil in saucepan. Add onions stew until golden (5 minutes). Add rice and stir until all grains are coated. Add broth and cover and let simmer for 5 minutes. Add Chili Pepper Paste and stir. Cover and simmer until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed. and its africa :)
SPICY APPLES & RICE 1 lg. tart apples, unpeeled & chopped 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 tbsp. butter 1 c. cooked rice 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. sliced almonds Pour boiling water over raisins and let stand to plump them, then drain. Cook celery and onions in butter until tender crisp. Stir in spices, rice and raisins. Heat thoroughly. Add apple, cover and let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds. Serves 6.
1. Lemon Rice: Fry onions, put some chili powder, salt and lemon once they are golden brown. Put rice and stir for few minutes. Spicy lime rice ready. 2. Teriyaki fried: Fry onions, broccoli, mushrooms, water chestnuts. Put spicy hot teriyaki sauce and then rice. Quick to make, spicy to eat.
Spicy Rice Ingredients (4 servings) 225 G, 8 oz long grain brown rice 5 ml 1 tsp ground turmeric. 1 Stick cinnamon. 1 Bay leaf. 4 Green cardamum pods. 6 Black pepper corns. Instructions Put all the ingredients in a saucepan with enough water and bring to the boil. Cook for 35 minutes or until the rice is tender.
