French Cooking Recipes Question And Answer

French Cook books??

I need a french cookbook that has a picture with every recipe. Any one have suggestions? I'd like something along the lines of DK, although I know they don't publish one. I know of lots of good french cookbooks already. I'm specifically looking for one with a picture of every recipe.

Check on Ebay. They have everything.
I don't know any author or anything, but there's tons of books to get at borders book store. I've seen many cook books with many recipes with pictures there. Good luck. ^_^
I would try Julia Child's cookbook - it has lots of great French recipes, and lots of illustrations.
1) Barefoot In Paris by Ina Garten is subtitled Easy French Food You Can Make at Home. As with her other books, Ina gives us recipes that are simple to prepare and usually delicious. Her recipes always remind me of food my mom or grandmother used to prepare. 2) Jacques Pepin's Fast Food My Way M. Pepin takes his French savoir faire and adds it to many, quick American/French dishes. His easy style and lovely flavor combinations make this book a must have in my opinion. 3) Bouchon by Thomas Keller Keller's restaurant Bouchon, in Napa Valley, Calif.,(and in Las Vegas) is modeled after Parisian bistros and serves simple yet sumptuous fare. This graceful ode to bistro cooking emphasizes that although in America, "bistro" is synonymous with "casual," the food is prepared with "precision of technique brought to bear on ordinary ingredients." 4) Les Halles by Anthony Bourdain This cookbook is not for easily offended or faint of heart. Bourdain grabs you by the --- and leads you through the intricacies of down and dirty French bistro fare. You either love him or hate 'em, there doesn't seem to be any in between! 5) The Provence Cookbook by Patricia Wells The famous French restaurant critic and prolific cookbook writer introduces us to her second home in Provence. We get recipes, we meet the men at the market and we learn a little more about why Provence holds us in her sway. 6) Mastering the Art of French Cooking Julia Child's two-volume masterwork--one of the most popular and influential cookbooks ever published--introduced French cooking to millions of home cooks during the 1960s and '70s. It is the cookbook of reference for students of the art of cooking. 7) The French Laundry by Thomas Keller "To eat at Thomas Keller's Napa Valley restaurant, The French Laundry, is to experience a peak culinary experience. In The French Laundry Cookbook, Keller articulates his passions and offers home cooks a means to duplicate the level of perfection that makes him one of the best chefs in the U.S. and, arguably, the world." Well, I'm not sure I'd be capable of duplicating his level of perfection, but it's fun to dream while turning the pages! 8) Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home Julia Child and Jacques Pépin get together and cook, with educational and entertaining results, bringing modern techniques and shortcuts to traditional French recipes, including Savory-Stuffed Roast Chicken, Chateaubriand, Julia's Lemon-Oil Dressing, Jacques's Salmon Fillet, and lots more. Here are approachable and doable recipes to serve family and friends. 9) Larousse Gastronomique Otherwise known as the bible of French cuisine. Serious about cooking? You'll need this book on your shelf. 10) The Slow Mediterranean Kitchen Mediterranean cooking expert Wolfert invites readers to sit back and relax, in this, her eighth book (the first has been in print for 30 years)-a charming paean to the kinds of foods that require time to prepare, but are worth the wait. This book includes foods from every region that borders the Mediterranean.
