German Cooking Recipes Question And Answer

I need a good recipe for frozen green beans. I am so tired of the green bean casserole thing.?

Isn't there some kind of recipe with bacon and almonds or something? I am thinking I had something like this that a German woman cooked (delicious).

Try adding onion and garlic and bacon or mushrooms, lots of flavor. Also throw some of those crispy onions on top. And some cheese.
sautee them in a frying pan with olive oil and a little kosher salt. I also wrap them in tin foil on my grill and put butter and salt on them when wraping them up
You can cook them like you normally would (in a saucepan with water) then drain them and throw them in a frying pan with butter, almonds and bacon (already crispy). Toss them to get them coated and heat them a little more. They're YUMMY!!! Don't forget a pinch of each: salt and pepper
put some fatback in a pan and fry it until all fat is cooked out then put the green beans in it and cook them until done(what ever consistancy you like them), garlic salt or just plain salt them and enjoy. I know this is not very healthy but when youre from Georgia thats how its done every meal!
I would try chopping up some bacon frying it crisp throw in some slivered almonds toasting them slightly then pour all over warm drained Greenbeans. Another suggestion, my kids loved is adding milk and Velvetta Cheese, with bacon. (my way of tricking them into eating lot's of veggs, 20 years later they still love it.)
I've had them with almonds, and I've had them with bacon - I can't remember having them together. If you want both, cut about 1/4 lb bacon up in 1-inch lengths and fry. Drain the oil off and maybe blot the bacon (depends on how much grease you like). Add a scant palm-full of sliced or julienned almonds and stir fry for a minute or two. Add the green beans and stir-fry until done. You can add diced onion, salt, pepper, sugar, vinegar, or paprika per your choice. See links for some references.
I love green beans cooked in the fat of bacon with sliced onions.. Or cook them in 2 tablespoons of butter and add cheese to them and cover it and let the cheese melt...The only way my kids eat um up... Enjoy!
