i make an easy lasagna
i take some either frozen meat sauce and cook some lasagna noodles and layer the thawed sauce and then a layer of noodles and then a layer of sauce and some mozzerella cheese and then a layer of noodles and then some more sauce and then some more cheese keep layering until your pan is almost full then put some sauce on top of the last noodles and some mozzerella cheese bake in a 400 degree oven until hot and bubbly
my boyfriend also is italian he ate everything specially meat grill, with salad, spaghetti with tomato sauce and meat, dont forget to prepare always bread on the table plain bread, italian cheese like grano padano, macheroni with speck ingredient tomato sauce, knor cubes and every friday they eat fish, spaghetti with tomato and fish but without italian cheese, cozze with spaghetti, bacala..usually favorite food of them.
Easy Lasagna
Use ready to bake lasagna pasta, cottage cheese, jarred spaghetti sauce, jarred mushrooms, mozzarella. If you eat meat you can add fully cooked sausage or use a meat sauce. Layer everything, repeat and top with extra mozzarella. Bake at 375 degrees till pasta is done (read box for time) and cheese it melted, NOT BURNED. Watch your oven! Wonderful! I like to use extra cottage cheese and mozzarella.
My sicilian grandmother used to make this dish. Take chicken pieces, potatoes, carrots and onions and bake in a pan slowly at 325 until tender. Add salt, pepper, bay leaves and a little garlic. Add frozen peas about 1/2 hour before it is all done. It makes a delicious "stew"....eat with italian bread.
He'll love it...it's different than the traditional pasta. And please, whatever you do, do not use cottage cheese in any dish that calls for ricotta cheese if you decide to make pasta!
Well, if your boyfriend is Italian and loves Italian food, why don't you ask him to come over for a cooking date? Tell him that you want to learn to cook things he loves, and you'd love to try it out with him. Have him teach you his favorite recipe. Not only will you have great bonding time, but you'll learn to cook it just the way he likes it!
This one is really good even though it uses bottled sauce. Make sure the sauce is a good one and that you like the taste of it.
Quick Chicken Parmesan
4 Boneless Chicken Breasts, pounded flat
1 jar Spaghetti Sauce (I use Prego mushroom and garlic)
3 oz. Mozzarella Cheese, grated
2 cups Italian Bread Crumbs
2 oz. Parmesan Cheese
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 egg, plus 1 tbs water, slightly beaten
Mix Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and garlic salt together in bowl. Beat 1 egg in another bowl, 1 tbs water and a dash of garlic salt. Dip chicken in egg, then in crumbs and fry in oil until brown on each side (10 – 15 min each side). Pour spaghetti sauce over chicken and sprinkle with cheese, cover so cheese melts and serve. Makes 4 servings.
