Oyako don - Chicken and egg on rice. 12 minutes
Serves 2
Ingredients:
4 oz. boneless, skinless chicken, cut into small pieces
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
3 eggs, lightly beaten
2 bowls of cooked rice
For sauce:
4 tbsp. dashi
2 tbsp. sake
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. mirin
2.5 tbsp. soy sauce
Method:
1. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
2. In a frying pan, add half of the sauce in bring to a boil. Add half the chicken and onion, and simmer for about 3 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
3. Pour half the amount of beaten eggs over the chicken in a circular motion. Cover the pan and simmer 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the eggs reached your desired consistency.
4. Slide everything in the pan over 1 bowl of hot rice.
5. Repeat for the second serving.
Gyudon - Beef Bowl- 12 minutes
Serves 2
Ingredients:
7 oz. very thinly sliced beef, cute into bite-sized pieces.
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Beni-shoga, red pickled ginger
Shichimi - seven spice chili seasoning, or red pepper
2 bowls of hot, cooked rice
1 cup dashi
2 tbsp. sake
1.5 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. mirin
3 tbsp. soy sauce
Method:
1. Put the stock and sake in a pot and bring to a boil. Add the onion.
2. When the onion is softened, add the beef. When the beef starts to turn white, add the sugar and mirin. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the soy sauce. Simmer over a low heat until liquid is reduced to about 2/3.
4. Put half on top of each bowl of rice. Serve with the benishoga and shijimi.

Miso soup is great with these.
Miso soup - 10 minutes
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1/2 cake silken tofu
Wakame seawead, reconstituted (however much you like)
1.5 inch of green onion, the white part, sliced
1 2/3 cups dashi
2 tbsp miso.
Method:
1. Cut the tofu and wakame into bite sized pieces
2. Pour dashi into a pan, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
3. Add tofu and wakame, then remove from heat.
4. Add miso gradually, stirring to soften and dissolve it.
5. Sprinkle in the green onion. Ladle into individual bowls.
How about curry and rice?
You go and find curry at wal-mart. and need some vegetables and chiken or beef or seafood.
It is very tasty and my friends love it when I cook it.
