If you want to start cooking youtube is your best friend. Pick a food, any food, let's say salmon, look up "salmon recipe" and you'll get this http://youtube.com/results?search_query=salmon+recipe&search= A number of step by step recipes for making salmon, on video, so it's easier to follow. It makes cooking easy. If you want Japanese recipes search for "Japanese recipe". Even if you don't find a lot, it's a great place to start and branch out from. Youtube recently helped me spice up meals around the house. I'd say I cook almost every day here, maybe once per week we go out for dinner. That's another great idea, when you go out for dinner, if you find a dish that stands out as being really superb, remember the name. When you get home look it up online, either through youtube or just using a search engine and searching for the name followed by "recipe" and try to make it yourself. This way you bring flavourful foods to your table at home, yum.
Stir fry is the easiest to prepare. You can use either beef strips( tenderloin is best), chicken strips or mixed seafood( you can buy them in one pack. All you need to do is saute a little bit of garlic, more of onions cut into cubes and put in either beef, pork or the chicken strips. Add a teaspoon or 2 of Kikkoman soy sauce, let stay for 10 mins.
