Spanish Cooking Recipes Question And Answer

Any pointers/ideas for someone who doesn't enjoy cooking but has to?

Hey guys, I go into my modes. One day I LOVE to cook, but the next it's like blah. But I have to cook for my fam. I work Mon-Fri 9-5. I'm usually home by 7:00pm so by then the meat has already marinated cause I season it in the morning before I head off. I'm hispanic (dominican & puerto rican) so the basics are rice, beans and chicken, lol. My hubby is African-American so I try to make all kinds of food, but he LOVES the Spanish cooking... :-) I'm still rocky with the cooking though. Do you guys have any recipes/tips...I love to bake btw, baked mac & cheese is the best! Also, what's the easiest cheesiest lasagna recipe? ~Thank you all! ~

prepare simple recipes the use only a few ingredients.
traditional African American? For his home faves can you talk to his mom? Collard greens, corn bread, fried chicken, red beans..ALL very easy to make! I cook in bulk on weekends and have food all week.. meat loaf, fried chicken, spaghetti etc...all in one day...then pop plates in microwave and you'll be eating together in a matter of minutes!!
pobre chica! ok, when you get into your super-betty-crocker moods cook extra. take a sunday and make double, or triple portions of the foods you like to eat, then bag 'em, tag 'em and freeze 'em. you'll have delicious meals on hand that only need to be thawed and re-heated for those days you don't like to cook.
well i dont have any recipes to give because like u I dont like to cook either. the number one reason i dont like to cook is because its boring just standing in the kitchen lookin after food. So one thing that keeps me from gettin bored is listening to music. If u put on your favorite CD or listen to the radio the time flies by. I can suggest u cook some soul food dishes for your husband because im sure he'll like that. u could make him a sweet potato pie since u like to bake. make some collard greens, baked beans, mac and cheese, fried chicken wing, and corn bread. u could go to all recipes.com for the recipes or just ask his mom how to make them. hope this helped
Concentrate on how good it will taste! ~ One of my quick favorites is elbow macaroni, cooked, then fried in a pan and when golden brown (use either olive oil or butter) add sliced hotdogs, mushrooms (sliced) and even hamburger meat (in little chunks) if you like, when it is all nicely browned, mix in some eggs (depending on quantity of the food, 1, 2 or 3)

I go through those modes too. I absolutely love cooking but then for 1 or 2 days I go into a funk and don't feel creative. The crockpot is a savior on those days. Or, we call it "fend for yourself night". (Might not work if you have kids.) Our secret is hamburger in the freezer and a couple emergency boxes of hamburger helper in the pantry. Otherwise we both can cook really well, but some days we're just tired. But I'll take some of that Spanish cooking any day. :)
go to www.campbells.com and knock yourself out. there are plenty of great recipes there. another one of my favorite sites for recipes are www.recipezaar.com. both sites are free and plentiful....take a look around, you'll enjoy them both!!!
Start by getting a few of the basic cookbooks like Good Housekeeping and Betty Crocker. Good Housekeeping has a big cookbook with pictures of all the dishes. It also has my favorite lasagna dish. It also has numerous (and easy) soups and stews that you can make ahead and freeze.
