easy spanish recipes ??
any easy spanish recipes?
i get extra credit if i cook something originating in a spanish speaking country.
oh and i dont have any special ingredients or anything so they'd have to be pretty basic.
please help!

SPANISH CORN BREAD
1/4 cup Crisco
1/4 cup self-rising flour
2 1/4 cup yellow self-rising flour
3 eggs beaten
1 1/2 cup whole milk
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, pressed
2 poblano chilies chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Put the Crisco into a large cast iron skillet, place it into the oven to melt. In the meantime, mix all the other ingredients in a bowl. Remove skillet from oven and pour melted Crisco into mixture. Stir in Crisco and pour the mix into the skillet.
Bake for 30-45 minutes until brown. Remove, cut, and serve.
Cooks Note: Butter or other shortening may be substituted for the Crisco in this recipe
IM from Puerto Rico...heres some ideas.....Arroz con Chuletas...(Rice and Beans)...Tostones...(fried plantains)....and mabey some malta goya...or bacardi superior as a drink...there you have it a Puerto Rican Dinner....
Enchiladas
Cook hamburger, drain
add taco seasoning, cook til done
heat 2 can's enchilada sauce
fry corn tortillas til softened
lay tortilla in 11x15 cake pan (glass preferably sprayed with PAM)
place 1 spoonful of hamburger meat in it
top with 2 TBSP enchilada sauce
top with cheese
and roll with flaps ending on BOTTOM of pan
continue til pan is filled
top with more cheese
place in oven to melt cheese
eat!
Desallo

toss in 2 cans tomato sauce and 2 cans of water
1 diced, jalepeno, seeds removed
simmer til sauce is sort of thick
make white rice and place this over it and eat

INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups heavy cream
* 1 tsp vanilla extract

* 1 long-handled wooden spoon
* 6 ramekins
* 1 large 9” x 13” baking dish (for water bath)
* 2 medium size mixing bowls
* 1 heavy saucepan
* 1 heavy skillet or saucepan
* 1 strainer or sieve
Wipe out the ramekins to ensure that there is no dust in them.

SPICY SPANISH DISH
1 lb. chicken cutlets
Sweet and hot sausage
1 lg. onion, strips
1 green and 1 red pepper (cut into strips)
1 c. chicken bouillon
2 tbsp. hot sauce
2 tomatoes, diced
Prepared Minute rice
Parboil for 45 minutes in separate cooking pots the chicken cutlets and sausage. Meanwhile, in hot frying pan, add 1 tablespoon butter, onions, and peppers. Saute about 8 minute son medium low heat. In 1 cup of boiling hot water, add the chicken bouillon cube to dissolve, put aside. Drain cutlets and sausage. Cool. Cut each into bite size pieces. Add to frying pan of onion, and pepper mixture. Saute for another 8 minutes. Meanwhile, in another separate pot make rice according to box directions. When done add and mix into the rice, 2 tablespoons hot sauce. Add the 1 cup of the chicken bouillon to frying pan mixture, stir in well for 10 minutes. Add diced tomatoes, cover and cook on low heat for another 5 minutes. Serve over prepared rice.

SPANISH BREAD PUDDING
1 loaf of bread
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped or raisins. Or both nuts and raisins.
1 stick butter, melted
1 c. white sugar
3 c. cold water
Break bread into small pieces. Put into a 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar, nuts, raisins and cheese over pieces of bread. Then pour melted butter over it all. In a heavy skillet brown 1 cup white sugar. Add 3 cups cold water slowly, stirring until all lumps are gone. Then pour this hot syrup over the bread mixture. Bake for 10 minutes in 350 degree oven.
